Would you like some Truth with that?
Okay, so this isn't going to be the most seasonal post, but yesterday I saw a huge billboard next to the highway into Atlanta that said;
"Dear Rep. Murtha, DEMOCRATS may cut and run, but MARINES never will.
OO-RA."
I had no idea that Murtha traveled along I-85, and one would think that if "MARINES" wanted to get a message through to him, probably a billboard was not the most efficient way.
I'm getting seriously sick of the growing prevalence of conservative propaganda in this country, from the Swiftboat Veterans for LIES to this crap.
Especially the "cut and run" idea, which once again makes use of their power to label us, to which we show no talent for responding to in kind, or at least making it effective.
First, I think that we should continue to label ourselves PROGRESSIVE, and to label them the opposite, REGRESSIVE. They want to roll back everything to the golden days when robber barons were allowed to do whatever they wanted and had no worries, and the people at the bottom had no power to change things. They're doing a pretty good job of it, too.
One thing we could do would be to label them "Cut and Run Republicans", and I'd like your suggestions to add to this list;
CUT and RUN Republicans,
want to CUT taxes for the obscenely rich, and RUN the country into the ground with deficits.
want to CUT social services and RUN off to the Bahamas to hide their profits.
want to CUT corporate responsibility and RUN off to the golf course to complain about Unions.
want to CUT funding for public schools and RUN off to church to promise vouchers to fundamentalist church schools.
want to CUT the cheese and RUN away, leaving others to blame for the foul stench that they created.
want to CUT down trees and RUN them through logging mills.
want to CUT the umbilical cord on newborns and RUN from any future responsibility in the life of the child.
want soldiers to fight until there are injured and their limbs have to be CUT off and they can no longer RUN because they are one or more legs short.
Okay, that last one is pretty weak.
Please add to the list, pass it around and keep it rolling,
